These terms apply to every order placed through doreensrumcakes.com. Please read them alongside our Refund, Returns & Delivery Policy and our Privacy Policy, which form part of this agreement. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. These terms

By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms. We may update them from time to time; the version that applies to your order is the one in force when you place it.

3. Our products

Every cake is handmade, so slight variations in size, appearance and finish between photos and the product you receive are normal, not a fault. Full ingredient and allergen information is available on our website and on product packaging — please check it carefully before ordering, particularly for allergies or intolerances.

4. Alcohol content

Our rum cakes contain alcohol. By placing an order, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the cake is intended for consumption by adults. Please don't order for, or share with, anyone under 18.

5. Placing an order

Adding items to your basket and checking out is an offer by you to buy those products. A contract is only formed once we accept your order — which we do by sending you a dispatch confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is unexpectedly out of stock or a pricing or listing error has occurred, in which case we'll let you know and refund you in full.

6. Price and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) at checkout, along with any delivery charge, before you complete your order. We are not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to our prices. Payment is taken securely at checkout via Shopify Payments; we do not see or store your full card details.

7. Delivery and collection

We deliver by post within the United Kingdom only, and also offer collection from Greenwich Market at weekends. Timing, costs and tracking are set out in our Shipping Policy.

8. Cancellations, returns and faulty items

Because our cakes are food products, change-of-mind cancellations and returns aren't available once an order has been dispatched or collected, for hygiene and food safety reasons. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or is affected by a delivery problem, our Refund, Returns & Delivery Policy sets out what to do and your statutory rights, which are not affected by this.

9. Our liability to you

If we don't comply with these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of our breach, but we're not responsible for any loss or damage that isn't foreseeable. We supply products for domestic and private use; if you use a product for any commercial, business or resale purpose, we won't be liable to you for any loss of profit, business interruption, loss of business opportunity, or similar loss. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited or excluded.

10. Website content

The content on doreensrumcakes.com, including text, recipes, photos and branding, belongs to us or our licensors. You may view and download it for your own personal, non-commercial use, but not copy, reproduce or reuse it commercially without our permission.

11. Complaints

If anything about your order or your experience with us falls short, please get in touch at doreensrumcakes@gmail.com and we'll do our best to put it right.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
